Default Snap Gap Tool for 312

Does anyone know where I can find a snap gap tool for setting the points on a 312?

Not ignorant, just not made aware.

The tool has hollow sleeves that slide over the dist can so as you don't need to move to high point of cam. Saves a lot of time and sweat, especially if one specialized in engine tune before electronics.

I still prefer using my dwell meter for accuracy. Reflects actual running status of the points.

So if my thinking is correct you slip the sleeve over the cam and alter the gap to compensate for the sleeve and not have to crank engine? I would think dwell meter was better but would take considerable longer.

The GM stuff was easy to adjust for dwell. On the Fords, I set them to gap with a wire gauge and checked them with the dwell meter. I seldom ever had to adjust the dwell. When I did, it was usually because of a misalignment of the two point faces or a worn out bushing in the distributor body.

Thanks for the education. When I use the term "ignorant" it basically mean unknowing or unaware, definitely not stupid.
