Rear wheel bearings
I finally bought the rear wheel hub puller, but haven't tried it yet. Is there a step by step video or pictures of pulling the hub and removing the rear wheel bearings to pack them with grease? Is it similar to the front?

Re: Rear wheel bearings
Hi Redbird,
What specific kind or brand of hub puller you have may lead to a more detailed answer? After rear hub is off, rear wheel bearing removal is easy peasy. |

Re: Rear wheel bearings
The rear wheel hub has one roller bearing in it, held in by a snap ring, unlike the front bearings which as you know has two.

Re: Rear wheel bearings
I bought the one from Bert's. It has the big bolt in the center.

In order of dis-assembly, is it similar to the front? Do you need to take seals out. I need to know to order parts to have on hand.

Re: Rear wheel bearings
You're right except I've seen many plugged with dried grease/dirt. Even if open it's difficult to know if you've pumped enough grease or too much that went past the seal into the brakes. Another argument for removing is to clean out the old grease and do an inspection.
