Where was this taken?

If it had been taken in MN you could have added snow to the picture. We're to get several more inches tonight.

That is the Pere Marquette 1225, the engine used as the model for the movie the Polar Express. It is based out of Owosso Michigan (about 4 blocks from my house). It is currently down for re-certification and was supposed to be running again this year, but they are out of funds as I understand it and a few hundred grand short.

Just curious why you start out with a photo of the 3985 on a story about the 844? I know they are in the same stable and often travel together.

Thank you for sharing this great photo of Your A and a steam train my Dad worked for the O & W for over 30+ years he started out as a boiler tube cleaner worked his way up to roundhouse operator never drove walked to work everyday in all kinds of weather if only he had a model A

I wondered that myself...lol
I rode behind both of those engines in the 50's.
I am fortunate to have one of the largest steam operations in the country running through my back yard.
