Default Hubcap Differences

Painted my wheels today and had ordered new hubcaps. As I was comparing the new hubcaps I got from Snyder's to the ones that were on the truck I noticed some differences. Can anyone tell me what the deal is with them being different? The first picture is the one that was on the truck and second is the new one.

Hi Sconners.
There are many manufacturers of the 30/31 stainless hubcap and there are many differences, as there were even with originals. I used to produce them also, and there were small differences in mine also. If you look closely you will find differences in the Ford Script and the depth of the pressing. Also if you lay two slightly different hubcaps on a flat surface and look across the surface of both caps, you will often notice a difference in height. Go for the higher one which takes the front axle split pin away from the cap. The rear wheel revolves with the cap so there is no worry with the rears.
It pays to purchase a complete set from a supplier, then you have no problems.

Thanks for the info! I purchased a complete new set from Snyder's and was wondering what the differences were. I appreciate your answers and advice!
Thanks
