question about trunk handles
is it possible to remove /replace the square shank on '32-'37 trunk handles? i have 2 gennie handles, a '36 & a '37. 1 shank is 3/4" longer than the other & i'd like to switch them.

Re: question about trunk handles
If you need to lengthen the square shaft it is as simple as acquiring a piece of correct size square stock from the hardware store and welding it in.
( been there, done that)

Re: question about trunk handles
The mounting shaft is not removable 51 MERC-CT is correct but it can be very difficult to thread a square shaft so I find it best to cut a good shaft from an unusable handle and weld that on. best to chamfer the area to be welded and have it TIG welded to keep heat down and weld small sections and let them cool. Remove all the internal parts before welding.
