Default Another one comes to Mathews VA.

Im gonna say it again There still out there! This one 30 miles away.
This 30 Roadster was restored and left in a barn in Ind. Then came to Va. 3-4 years ago. Was givin a bath then parked in a garage and never started. I hope to start her up in the next few days, needs to be detailed, some little things fixed. Cant remember when ive seen a Black Roadster....
Wick
Going to look at a 28-31 Chevy 2 door this evening, sitting over 50 years inside..only 2 miles from my house. Just going to Flip it.

I know you know this Wick but when you open the door(s), see if it sags/droops/drops any. If so, the wood is 'tired' and a big deal breaker for most prospective Stovebolt buyers.

Congrats on the Roadster. I know you are living a dream making the chase.

Thanks Brent, the old stovebolt is Dirt Cheep. I did not know about the sag when you open the doors, but if it happend I would notice. If I can flip it onto a HotRodder then thats one less Model A that gets Hot Rodded!

I said last night I should film this stuff and put it on youtube. I have a 21 T thats been sitting for decades...I may film the 1rst start up try. I found, but cant get in to look at a T Touring car till I catch up with the caretaker. I wont Tresspass just to get a picture...Also want to relic hunt the place. The chase is the fun part for sure.
This evening my Friend Brian in Crewe va. has been invited to look over a old place with a coupe and Tudor there. Looking forward to the pictures.

Wick, I'm curious, Does the county/state charge you Personal Property tax on all this iron? I have property in Shenandoah county and I see NO old vehicles, tractors, trailers, etc sitting in backyards, farmyards and whatnot. I always assumed it was because of the personal property tax. Having grown up, spending a lot of time on my cousin's farm in Hunterdon Co, NJ, everybody had at least one old machine behind the house or barn. Usually a lot more than one.

Try the Native American Indian Reservations if you want old car stuff!

Ive got antique tags on a few of my cars, the county has them listed ...no property tax. We do have laws on Junk cars "no wheels sitting, on blocks/covered with a tarp" but someone has to report it first. Biggest problem is alot of folks are here for the summer,if you leave something out in the open during the winter the Scrapper's will steal it,cars,lawnmowers,a/c units, siding off your house.

BTW, if anyone saw the current issue of Antique Automobile, an unrestored Packard was found on the Northern Neck of VA, which is the peninsula north of where Wick lives. It must be good hunting in eastern VA.
