Default 289 Engine in a 1984 Ford F-150

I have a lead on a very low mileage 1966 289 V8. I was thinking about removing the 300 CI 6-cylinder from my dad's 1984 Ford F-150 and dropping in a V8. Does anyone know if the 289 will bolt up to the 3-speed manual transmission bellhousing currently in the 84 Ford?

This is not the place to ask car questions, it is for questions about the site. You might try asking in the late V8 forum, but this questions might be outside the scope of Ford Barn. Or try one of the Ford truck forums.

I see other car questions that get answers here. Why is my question so different??

While that may be true in a very few cases, read the reply's for most questions in the section you will see most received the same info as was posted on your question. Just because you see 1 or 2 reply's to the questions does not mean that they got answered. I will repeat, this is NOT the section to ask questions about cars/trucks, they need to be asked on the correct forum that fits the year you are working with. This section is for questions about the site.
By the way, re your question about the head light bolts, there were 4 reply's. It is good to thank those that tried to help or let people know the information helped.

Some questions that are not related to the main intent of the site are answered but there are other better places to ask and that is why you are directed there. Have you considered problems with pollution controls passing state inspections if you have them? If it was me I would just rebuild the 6 cylinder.
