Default 47 truck purchase

Hello all! I recently acquired a 47 ford truck, but I'm not new here, I also have a 29 model AA truck I'm going through currently. I was wondering if you guys could give me ideas on vendors that you use. Also what books have helped you on the way? I'll post pictures of the truck when I pick it up tomorrow. Thanks!

Ford Trucks Since 1905 by James K Wagner is a nice book.

Dennis Carpenter, Bob Drake, C&G, Joblot, and Mac's are the vendors I deal with the most.

If you are going stock, which I highly recommend, you should join the Early Ford V8 Club of America.

Dennis Carpenter is a must for all the small bits - they took most of my resto budget, Mac's antique auto parts is a great catalog as well, Midwest Early Ford has sheetmetal and trim, Miller Tire in Ohio has antique truck/tractor tires for good prices. Walker Radiator for a nice original.

"Half Ton Fun" is a great place for brake parts, he specializes in 1932-1960 Ford truck parts / 1932-1953 Ford car mechanical parts as well. (732) 928-9421 Bob Selzam

These were all that I needed fo my '47 1 1/2 Ton flatbed pictured below.

Good luck & Have fun! -Rob

Nice project! I restored a 1945 pickup back in the 80's. Hardest thing for me to find then were the cab wood blocks, I ended up having my dad make copies of the originals, worked great. I would imagine there are alot more parts avail for them nowadays.
