Default Leaking gas from carburator - choke

Hi, I'm a newbie with Model A 1930.
My carb leaks/drips fuel through the choke area. Advise on fixing it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

could be warped, stripped screws, gaskets.
From its appearance I guess it has not been off the engine for a while.
Attempt to rebuild it. I did a search here and this carb needs care and attention, and eventually replacement.
I have refurbished zeniths for sale.

A good carburetor makes all the difference in the world.

As mentioned, I would at least take it off the car and than apart.

Post pictures of it apart. We can than go from there on advising you on what you might do next.

I like new or well rebuilt original Zenith’s.

Enjoy.

Float level set to high will cause this. Look in the carb throat with a mirror and flashlight and see if fuel is dripping out of the main jet discharge tube in the center of Venturi.
I’ve this problem on several Tillotson’s. Fixed it by lowering the float level slightly below the spec. It didn’t affect the drivability.

Float valve not sealing, not to expensive to rebuild !

If purchasing a refurbished carb best to purchase one from someone that uses flow tested jets and tests the carb before shipping. Depending on who you purchase from, you can have yours rebuilt, and/or receive a core charge for yours in exchange for a rebuilt off the shelf.

Or keep your old one, attempt to rebuild it yourself at your leisure, and you then have a spare.

If it leaks slowly with the gas valve in the off position, another issue you need to resolve.

If rebuilding yourself, and decide to replace the jets purchase flow tested jets. Renner's Corner offers then flow tested and packed as a rebuild kit, other vendors may offer them flow tested but you should call and ask before ordering.

I have rebuildable zenith cores, matched top and bottom, if needed.
