Unhappy 1942 1 1/2 Ton Marmon Herrington.

Repairing the cab and she is rough lots of rot and bad repairs .

makes it harder being in England where there is no parts and truck is not so popular.

Does anybody know where I could get a repair panel for surrounding the Cowl Vent panel ? I have made all my own sections up to now but this is has a complex pressed channel section.

Swampy.

If cost is a consideration, filling it may be an option.

Somebody, either here or on the FTE 1947 and under forum, has to have a wreck of a cab sitting in their field that has a cowl vent and surrounding metal they'd send you. I gave a similar 48-52 vent and surround to a guy on FTE. Shipping wouldn't be cheap, but better than trying to fab one. Stu

The body metal from a car may work for the repair.

It may also be true that a 48-52 complete cowl like I cut out of my junk cab would be either the same assembly, or a close match. This would broaden the scope of your search. Here's the FTE 48-56 forum too. Stu

Edit - here's the 48-52.

I have a cowl vent and the piece of the cowl needed to make the repair . May not be the best but, but fixable, you can have them for paying the freight--not sure how we would make this happen

You are a nice guy. I believe you two guys could open up accounts at FedX and then his account could be charged for the freight cost.

I will get you a picture, as soon as my computer system is fixed. I got ransomed wared and it ruined my system to add to your existing knowledge--the cowl vent is the same for trucks 40-47, cars 39/40

No rush , I have rest of cab to be getting on with and winter closing in.

I am not to good with computers , can just about manage getting around this forum and ebay, always been more hands on growing up so the pc passed me by that and old stuff seemed to interest me more.

Good look with your system.

Thanks for the extra info ,I am learning slowly.
