Default Spider orientation

I'm putting my horn button, rod, and wiring bail back together and can't remember the orientation for the spider at the bottom end of the rod. With the light switch on the steering wheel in the off position (12 o'clock) should the prongs of the spider be verticle (up and down on the rod) or horizontal (side to side on the rod)?
