Default 39 Standard wiring harness, where to buy?

Who's the best source for a good harness? I don't want any hot rod stuff, I want the right wiring as in a new repro harness. Searching the 'net gives a potpourri of mixed new/hot rod and stock stuff that's hard to cipher. When I do my Packard stuff I get just 1 big new harness made to the OEM print and there's never an issue. Do us Ford fans have the same luck? If so, who's the best source and what's been your experience as in cost and timely delivery (like in stock)?

I received a complete harness for my 39 Mercury this year which I have since installed, from Narragansett Reproductions........very happy. Everything looked so original and fit was perfect. When powered up first time everything worked!

Naragnasett is perhaps the best available. A less costly alternative can be had from Dennis Carpenter. It too will fit and function quite well. I have restored two '39 standard coupes thus far and been quite happy with the harnesses from DC.

You could try Tyree Harris.

I used Tyree Harris harness on my 39 std coupe and had no problems with it. It looks just like the original.

Naragansette worked for me. Good instructions and drawings.

Tyree Harris supplied mine. I was more than pleased and he even helped with a couple questions I had. I never used anyone else so he is the only one I have to compare too.
good luck.

YNZ yesterdays parts did ours for our 32, fantastic job not sure exactly what your needs are but custom made and hid flashers for turn signals (in the cowl lights) and for the rear taillights, trafficator volt reducers, complete circuit system, cleverly done, hidden and totally safe with a built in overload protection of the whole system and the whole 9 yards, look as original.

My needs, not 100% sure yet since the car currently has a 1 wire alternator which I simply don't want to run. I'd rather see the OEM generator and I think I'd prefer a regulator over a cutout, none of which is on the car right now. It's a std tudor, a bit of a rod with juice brakes and a killer stance, nice wheels n tires. It's right in full view of my radar as I don't want a bone stocker, yet I don't want a "street rod" in the colloquial sense. Something that I can service like the old car it is, something simple to drive and maintain. It needs to be wired, an interior, shake out a few new build bugs and it's off n running.

It's a bit hard to figure out the harness gig since what I found lists several different sub systems vs something more "all in" like I'm used to. I appreciate the input so far, once it's in house I'll share pics and plans with y'all.

You can replace the one-wire GM alternator with one that looks like an original generator. It would not require a cut-out or regulator, but you could run one (gutted) just for the original look. I'm assuming the car is 12 volt? A 6 volt harness would be a little over kill on wire size, but would work fine.

It's "no volt" right now so I can pick the direction to take it. The only up side to 12V that I can see is the ability to put an updated sound system in it. I do like my music, but I also like things as close to "real" as possible. In the planning stages plenty of discussion is helpful to set the direction, that's the reason for my question.

I recommend Tyree Harris. Fast turn around, better pricing. He will include modifications in the harness if you request. First rate. I have been using his service for many years. Good diagrams.

I also am a fan of Tyree. Very helpful and personal, like working with an old school craftsman.

That's interesting. So, no bulbs, no gauges, battery, etc? With a 6volt system you can go either way, 6 or 12. If it has been setup wiring wise for 12v it is a little more difficult to go back to 6v, but doable.
