Screwed on a pair of 36 front shocks
Received the set of original, working, non-leaking set of 36 front shocks today that I bought from a fellow in Pocatello, Idaho. Not exactly original Henry material as the photo shows. These are Armstrong brand. Can’t be too careful I guess. Frustrated that I peed away the cost of goods and shipping. Guess he needed it more than me.

And the fellow's name was? What did he say when you told him you wanted to return them? Is he a member here? Do you have a link to the ad you purchased them from?

Re: Screwed on a pair of 36 front shocks
Those are Delco -Lovejoy shocks that are made to put on an old Ford. They actually work better than the stock shocks and if they leak you can get a kit and rebuild them yourself. Did you ask for a photo before you bought them? Did you call the seller and talk with him before you placed this post? I suspect there was not enough communication between you and the seller before the purchase.

Ron
What are you doing about it? We don't know how much you paid for them but can you contact the person and let him know that you are not happy? |

Re: Screwed on a pair of 36 front shocks
It was common back in the day to fit the Delco shocks to early Fords. These shocks came as a kit for different makes and models and included cast mounting brackets to suit various cars. The Ford shocks were difficult to repair and so Delco kits were substituted at a better cost. As stated above the Delco shocks were fairly easy to repair and worked well. They were original equipment on Chevs, Buicks etc. My 1934 Ford sedan has had them fitted for many years an they work well. Maybe the seller removed them from a 1936 Ford thinking they were originals to the car and so advertised them as such. Regards, Kevin.

Re: Screwed on a pair of 36 front shocks
Did you ask the seller for pics before you agreed to purchased them? There are many sellers advertising on the internet that have no clue to what they are selling.Shooting from the hip is what I call it. Some claim that they are unable to post pics. In that case ask them.If they can't then don't go any further.

Re: Screwed on a pair of 36 front shocks
Made it clear that these were going on a properly restored 36 Ford car. Yes, these will bolt on and work. When I order Chicken wings, I prefer not to be served Pigeon wings.

If you can't resolve the issue the seller should be reported to Ryan if he is a member here. I recall a member here from Pocatello. Can't remember if it was a seller or contributor to the forum.

Re: Screwed on a pair of 36 front shocks
You never know what this stuff might be worth to someone else. They may be worth more to someone than what you paid for them. It might be easier to put them on flea-pay and move them on down the road or trade them for the ones you need.

Seller has stepped up and offered a full refund. Showed extreme remorse.
