Default Florida "Barner's Blast"

We're thinking about having another Florida event (Barner's Blast) in February or March of 2011. We're looking for some input with respect to dates and activities so, if you are going to be in central Florida in Feb. or March and you'd like to meet other "Barner's", let us know. We'll post info on the event once we select a date (weekend).

Vic,
We will be there all winter and are look forward to getting together. Sure was fun last year. So, all Fordbarners that may be in Florida this winter should give their dates so we can get this event planning started. I hope we could get to meet at GM's great collection of flatheads and see Skip's shop in action. Pete's panel restoration may be in the area also. JM are you coming down this winter??

Vic, I should be ready for a winter break by Feb/Mar. I would also like to attend the FL Billitproof show again but I'm not sure of the date or location yet for 2011

VIC ......................
There is always the Spring Meet, at the International Speedway, in Daytona. I don't know the date, but it is in the time-frame.
If it is too far away for you, I hope that you don't compete with it.

JM. pretty sure the date for next year's Florida B-Proof is April 9th back in Gainesville at the county fairgrounds. I have the new flyer around here somewhere. When I find it - if its a different date I'll post a correction.

Mike, It's not too far away, I just don't have enough knowledge of the local area with respect to things to do beyond the meet at the Speedway. In order for me to effectively promote an event outside of the Tampa Bay area, I'd need a lot of help from people familiar with the area and local events that could coincide with a Barner's event. Vic'
I'll be down after the first of the year, and staying till April 1st. I think we should try to work around the Zephyrhills show. It pulled some folks from our schedule. I had a blast last year and can't wait to see all the ol barners, keep us posted, Chuck.

Hi Chuck, The Zephyrhills show is a possibility but I had wanted to try something different, possibly a cruise from the Tampa area down to Ft. Myers to visit the Edison, Ford Estates Museum with possible stops along the way however, I don't want to try scheduling anything until I know we'll have at least the same level of participation that we had last year. I'd be interested, sounds great. I just hope more people show up to it than showed up at the "get together" at Garlits a few years ago. I think 3 people showed up.

OK Vic, you're on the calendar - now, you need to make plans for the Williamsburg Fordbarn get together - Thurs, May 19, 20, 21 and 22nd. Some folks from the HAMB may be showing up as well so I'm hoping to have a good crowd. A little later in the calendar but still the same event!!

If you want to help make it a bigger success You could put you finger to the keyboard & also by word of mouth and see how many people you can muster up
to attend.
Do you have any Ideas of thing of intrest down there?
