Default Testing ahooga horn

Can you please help me?

I had a guy in our club rebuild my horn, and it worked great on the bench!

Put the horn in my car, found that no wire goes to the horn button, ah hah!
So I install a button and run two wires, but find that the Amp meter has more amps than the button is rated for. Wire in a new toggle switch 30 amp, and nothing.

Check for voltage, and have voltage to the horn.

So, I want to isolate the horn, how does one take a screw driver or two jumper leads and make the horn work?

I am trying to be a "do it your selfer" and figure this out, so I will know next time,

TIA
Clay

On the terminal block there are two brass clips. One goes to the battery and one goes to ground.

The horn draws about 5 amps.

Do you have a light rod with a horn button at the top? The horn is wired through the light switch and grounded with the button.

That one doesn't show the horn connections.

This is the one I was reffering to:

I don't have my wiring completed yet....waiting for firewall and cab installation. Can I test my horn with (+) to one wire and (-) to the other from the 6 volt car battery?

Run POS to one terminal and NEG to the other and horn should work.

Thanks, Bob. I can see now that one of the wires is connected to the circuit when the horn button is pressed. Automotive wiring often puzzles me, even though wiring a complete house was a no-brainer for me. Thanks again.
