Everyone of us are affected by this virus, some way more than others, so
we all have to do our part to help in any way we can.

My sons are both machinests, and their company is making some of the parts
that will be used in the new ventilators.

It's super that Ford is stepping up to the plate to help combat this pandemic.
We need all the help we can get... God bless us all.

Boy, I don't know about this. Flatheads are known to have breathing problems.

The cone of shame made me smile.... I shared it with my wife. We both needed a laugh. And a ww2 approach to manufacturing just may make a few more people proud to be Americans. As they should be!

Apparently GM backed out of their commitment by dropping numbers they promised and raising prices. Hopefully, Ford and Tesla will come through.

Nobody else seems to be worried about remuneration at this point....only getting production going and goods distributed as the Trump team has requested and orchestrated. I'm ashamed of what I've heard about The General in all of this. Even Boeing has already geared-up to make gazillions of high tech face shields, as well as offering it's company's swing-tailed Dreamlifter and four other company aircraft to distribute necessary supplies anywhere in the country as needed. Even The Pillow guy has jumped in to produce N95 masks, with a smile, tickled that he can do it for his country. DD

Lots of message manipulation going on. The Detroit News has published a few in-depth articles over the past week on the auto industry's involvement in respirator production. GM's voluntary effort began more than a week ago and involves not only GM plants but also manufacturers in GM's supply chain.

Today's DN issue states:
"But GM said it's already "working around the clock" with Bothell, Washington-based Ventec Life Systems and its suppliers to help boost production of its medical devices that help COVID-19 patients in severe cases breathe. Ventilators built at Kokomo Operations [GM plant] could be shipped as early as next month, and GM said it's donating its resources at cost."

Tom,

I retired from Ford powertrain engineering in 2013 (Truck engine calibration). Maybe we crossed paths at one time.
