I loved reading about his trips in the past and wished I could do the same. I think all of us here are greatly saddened by his passing. Alot of good info went with him! Well, I guess hotrod heaven has a brand new member. Rest in peace, we all will miss you.

Had the pleasure of meeting Paul on three occasions. Had a ride in the roadster on Vancouver Island. Spent a couple days in his company in Denver. He took me on a tour of the club house and we went to breakfast with a few of his cronies. He was a very special person. I learned quickly when you talked to him if you were smart you said very little. Was best to listen and learn. The flathead knowledge he had in his head was remarkable. Rest in Peace Paul Bill

Yesterday.

Holmes called to tell me the bad news, that our buddy Paul Garrigan had passed away. "rumble seat" was out for a putt in his beloved roadster & hit a lamp pole. It's believed that he was stricken with a massive heart attack as he went thru the intersection, just before the crash.

I have a notebook full of his suggestions and his findings. Sorry to lose that wealth of Flathead knowledge. He will be missed. Condolences to his family.

Didn't know him, I was reading the " Where is rumbleseats posts ? " thread this morning, spent 30 minutes or so, some very interesting stuff. As I moved thru the posts, the last one was the, "He died yesterday " post. It was pretty freaky matching up all his knowledge to now he's gone.

I met Paul at Ocala in 2009. No doubt he was an Icon for our hobby. May he rest in peace...

I don't know what to say... I am shocked.
I do not know much about the flatheads, as I have just recently purchased a nice 59A-B. And seemingly trying an attempt at a learning curve catch-up, I have been reading portions of "rumble seat's" notes and evaluations when ever I just get the moment...
Thinking back, I recollect his wonderful road trip printed in the pages of Rodders Journal, and I was really taken emotionally by the drive and the meets and greets along the way. "rumble seat" came, I think, somewhere close to the Highway that runs through my town, describing the twists and turns at full-out cruisin'. I thought NOW that is how ya drive 'em... and with a Columbia!!
So this hits my heart heavy, that I am having to say 'Thanks' and 'A Good Bye' to someone with whom I am, page by print, still meeting.

Your telling words and your kindness... Your Legacy!!
Rest in Peace Paul rumble seat Garagan

...and may the appearance of the road be forever long

Paul was a credit to our hobby. His passing leaves a void that won't be easily filled.

In another thread related to Paul. Bruce Lancaster suggested that a hard copy of Paul's "Techno-site notes" would be nice to have. This is something that many us would like to have. Hopefully, someone(s) will give some serious thought to this endeavor. It would be a tribute to his legacy

He was a class-act he will be missed.
