Hey Ol' Ron, I've been playing with Flatheads for over 50 years and I've still got unfinished projects... When we drive em, we're never finished with them... But that's just part of the fun.

It is still raining here in the Tampa Bay area but, we were granted a reprieve for several hours today, a good thing because a friend of mine was hosting an antique car event at his home and restoration shop between 11:00am and 2:00pm. I debated as to which one of my vehicles to drive but with the very real possibility of additional rainfall approaching, I felt it best to leave the convertibles in the garage and drive the '51 Ford F-1 Pickup. The threat of rain kept a lot of people from driving antique vehicles but there was a descent turn out of old iron. Here are a few photos.

I see the T's were well represented, that was a cool old Studebaker too. Thanks for posting Vic.

I actually started it back in 84 when I bought it, this is the fourth time around, great fun working with the grand kids.

Wish I could have made it up there today. Maybe this rain will start letting-up soon.

Gene & Steve,

As luck would have it, the rain stayed away, and we had a really nice time. Unfortunately, the earlier rain did keep a lot of people from driving their vintage vehicles. I opted to drive the '51 F-1, not one of the rag tops...

I bought my '53 Ford Convertible in 1973, for $125.00... I rebuilt the Flathead in '75 and had the Ford-O-Matic rebuilt in '88. A friend of mine drove the '53 to Tampa, following me in the '39 CS, back in '92... A number of years ago, the OEM Flathead block cracked, so I put her away for a while... I've got another "good" block out of a '51 Crestliner that had a Ford-O-Matic so, we're gettin' ready for another rebuild...

Thanks Tinker, one of these days you've got to come to Tampa to hang out with the Cigar City Flatheads, when we're playin' in the garage or going on a cruise.

Hi Everyone, Vic, Thanks for sharing! That brass T is just about the kind of car my Dad would love. He really liked the ones with the wooden dash, but that one is really sharp.

Looks like it has accessory coil springs under the leaf.

Also, did you notice that you caught yourself in the reflection of the windshield? Nice!

Wow, when in was 16, in '65, I had a '48 Ford Tudor. the father of one of my sisters friends has a '53 Champion Coupe. One day I dropped my sister off at her friends and her father asked me if I wanted the Studebaker. I said yes, got a friend of mine to drive my Ford and I drove the Studebaker home. When my dad got home that night, and saw the '48 & '53 parked in front of the house, he was not happy... Needless to say, the next day, I returned the Studebaker... Now, in addition to my Flatheads, I have two Studebakers, a '55 Speedster and a '63 Avanti R-1.
