40 Ford Coolant Capacity
I have a stock 40 Ford Deluxe. I am going to flush out the cooling system.
How much antifreeze do I need to add? No heater. P.S. I live in San Diego....it never freezes. |

Re: 40 Ford Coolant Capacity
I use two gallons of Sierra antifreeze, and top off the system with distilled water. It does freeze here in Iowa, but if I was in San Diego, I'd use just the distilled water with a dose of anti rust additive.

Re: 40 Ford Coolant Capacity
Hot or cold climate, I do a 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze, replacing it every 2-3 years. I start out at a 5 gallon capacity and bring the rest with me adding some every few days until I see an antifreeze puddle under the car after a run. That means I had too much in there. Of course, all of this depends on the condition of your radiator, black, thermostats, and driving conditions ........

Re: 40 Ford Coolant Capacity
Where is the best drain point to remove coolant? I've drained from the radiator petcock to change thermostats, but get at most two gallons when flow stops.
