Pop-up Adds at Bottom of Screen

Well, I tried login out and back in, still there. Maybe it is a platform issue, I use Windows 10.

I am still using Windows XP (don't tell Ryan), and when I click on the "X" in the upper right hand corner of the ad...it goes away and stays gone until I go to the next page or post.

The Ford Barn costs me money every month. It is not profitable. So, I am doing some different things with advertising in an effort to try to improve that situation. However, if you are logged in you shouldn't be effected by any of these changes.

There might be a time when I had to have some ads for logged in users, but I'm not willing to go there yet.

Yes, these pop-ups appeared recently out of the blue, and I am still getting them. I hit the X on the right, and that deletes them for a time, but then they reappear shortly after again. They are a distraction. Thanks Ryan for working on a solution to eliminate them. Regards Mercman <><

So, those of us who were in business know that losing money each month isn't a plan to keep the Ford Barn going on as we hope it will. Guessing if it were to fold, most, if not all, of us who are here everyday, will suffer a great loss in the pursuit of keeping our beloved Fords on the road.


You must have some ideas as to how you can continue to keep the site going, and at the very least cut your losses??


As you've come to know over your years here as "the Boss"....there are some very intelligent loyal members. Maybe you could tap into some creative thinking that could erase your deficits?? We do have some skin in this game.

I don’t really care about making money... it would be nice, but it’s not a driver. The Ford Barn is never gonna make me rich, so I don’t worry about it too much.

I really just want to stop some of the bleeding, so I am trying some things on the advertising side. These changes, however, will not effect you if you are logged in.

If things got really bad, I’d consider adding ads to the site while logged in, but only if it was minimally invasive.

I don't mind ads, especially if it helps keep the Barn afloat, but that bottom bar was very distracting.
