Default Stevens engine stand...

I have some left over steel from a job and have been wanting to build one of these and need a few measurements to get started if any one still has one.

I can get a good idea from the pictures in my re-printed tool catalog but any original figures would be great.

Thanks for the reply Steve, if you can make out those pictures looking for the length of the two support feet, the offset between those feet and were that first bolt I have labeled "C" and the measurements between bolt "C", "B" and "A" on the rise supports.

Also needing the height of the stand to the floor and then the measurement of that main center frame that looks square probably 16" or 18" square. The pictures are from my catalog, pictures of yours would be great. Scott

Picture 1:
Length of feet is 36": 3 mounting holes 1 at center (18") & other two 2 1/2 BC around center hole..
From floor to C is 12", between A - B is 4"
Picture 2:
Height of top of stand to floor is 28 1/2"height of main frame is 11"(width is 15 3/8")
Width of the two supports at the floor level is 23 5/8"

Other: The size of the wood center frame is 11" X 15 3/8"

I think that I should take photos and include measurements.
Sorry ! NOT this week! Too busy and temps are over 104 all week!
Next Saturday would be earliest!
Happy days!

Thank you for taking the time in this heat to make and post those measurements Steve.

A wood center frame, that is why in the stand description it says "you can carry the stand around the shop-it weighs only 79 pounds."

Some pictures of the valve retaining rack and that offset center stop and tray next week would be great, stay cool my friend.

One of the biggest draw backs on the Stevens stand, you can't turn the engine on it's nose to set up the coil to magnet gap.

Good day!
My stand is missing the valve rack & pans. I bought bread pans from ZORO mfg/supply to replace them
I will measures the center stop and other measurement next Saturday and include photos.
I agree that the stand is best suited for valve work and engine disassembly. We all have our shortfalls! Getting OLD is the biggest issue!
Happy Days

As Redmodelt said, they are limited, don't waste your time. Buy, or copy a Wilson, and attach to a Motor stand, or what ever your choosing.

I do have an adapter to my "modern" engine stand, I only want to build this for a garage display piece as I have a complete 21 power plant and would like a period example to support it.

I'm a long way from having the ability or knowledge and skill to set up the coil to magnet gap, hell when I get this thing running I will have to learn how to operate the spark and throttle levers with out stalling the darned thing
