Unless you really need the money, keep it! This is going to be one of those things you “wish you didn’t do”! Escpecially because it has sentimental value...I sold something that was my dad’s and I think about it everyday and wish I could get it back...

Ian....This car has already gone down the road to a new and very appreciative new home in Wisconsin. This probably couldn't have worked-out any better, overall! DD

First pic
Sat. 7/1/23 at the Balsam Lake WI "main street muscle" get together.
Deliberately killed it and am getting out to start it with the crank.
First pull of course.
Old guy announcing really harped about that.
Fun day .

Second pic
Sun. 7/2/23 same place car show.
No shortage of questions about what model it was.
NW WI is not ideal climate for a Phaeton.

Here is the last update on "Mikeys" old car
https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=280405

Here is another link to brook trout on a running board.
Mike was still doing good at that time as you can see.
Thanks for the memories bud and RIP

Just re-read this thread. Still drooling. Great story with a happy ending.

Thanks,
An update on what I have done with it. Removed [ but saved] the reds headers and dual exhaust. Had a NOS head pipe and crossover and excellent exhaust manifolds Put them on along with the NORS muffler that came with car. Tail pipe was from Fred of southside obsolete. I like quiet cars.

Took the model A horn off and hooked the stock ones back up.

Put the NOS windshield frame that came with car on. Kept stock one of course.
ADDING forgot about changing the top irons out with a set off a restored car. Bought new bows from "oak bows" but they are on shelf.
Put a mint set of correct aluminum heads on it.
Rest is same as last update.

Have had to adjust brakes twice and can sure appreciate how good Mike was at that. Takes some fine tuning to get all 4 tires to skid on pavement. Was that way when I bought it.

The little deer warning bell on front bumper bracket is still there.

Did buy Mikes MINTY spare tire cover back from the man that bought the NOS front fenders, grille and bumpers sold before car.

Did get the rear fenders from Mike Jr though.

First pic is from 2023 in its new home.
Second pic is from 1963.
60 years apart and car has not changed much.

More pics of the Mikey mobile kicking it up.

Top pic may be it new.
Pic is from NY NY and car has a NY NY dealers decal on r cowlside.
Wonder how many new Dearborn blue 34 phaetons were sold on NY NY?

Other pics are 7 miles from here at "Interstate State Park".

Last pic is NOS RR fender installed. Top irons from restored car also visible
Kept factory one of course but it was by far the worst part on car.

Hey Clayton,
We did not enter it or the green 68 Chevelle SS396 convertible in front of it for judging.
31 MODEL a 2D won.

Just enjoyed the comments.
AND showing how easy the 34 is to crank start
Both are tattered used cars and are staying that way.

Hows the leg?
Still have 35 drums for you.
Dave
