Default 59a oil pump

Any info on an oil pump out of a 59a i'm building?
Casting numbers are W pre-fix.
Unlike the others i have, this body looks die cast alloy, cast iron end cover, cast iron elbow with die cast pick up bowl.
Dimentionally the same as any other 59a pumps.
No wear what so ever, factory spec backlash and tooth to housing clearance.

Personally, I don't think I would want any die cast inside my motor

Sounds like a very interesting oil pump and pickup assembly different than what we see here in the US it would be nice to see a photo of what you have.
Since you see no wear what so ever I take it you mean it has been run was it in the 59A your building?

This is die cast, not cast iron like the 25 others i have that are both both pre war and post war.
Only cast iron part on this is the end cover and the bolt on pick up elbow.

Can it be an oil pump made in Germany? The "W" marking in the castings may be a specification used for the german army W=Wehrmacht.

That has been my theory too, i do have other German oil pumps here though, they are all steel like the American and English pumps.
The German and English books and manuals does not show this either.

A very strange find.
