Default 1932 Ford V8 Radiator

Is there a company out there that will make a original 1932 V8 radiator ?, I have contacted many companies including Brassworks, they all will only make one with the STUPID under hood water fill and a DUMMY radiator cap.

According to Brassworks' website catalog, they make a stock '32 V8 radiator with the filler neck where it belongs. The only evident variation from an original is the addition of drain cock on the lower tank.

Did you speak directly with Lee at Brassworks? When they built the radiator for my '39 p/u with an 8ba he customized the radiator specifically for my application. He spent considerable time to insure his product was what I needed/wanted.

HD, I don't know your location (you should add it to your User CP) but Seattle Radiator will put the correct core in your tanks and side straps. Essentially RESTORING your radiator if that is what you want. Last one I had done there maybe 5 years ago cost me $750. I am sure it is more now but they do everything. I saw them doing a radiator for a stationary engine that was the size of a roll up garage door and 3' thick. They do the best work in the Puget Sound Area and have been there forever.

Totally agree that mfg's should put a filler neck on top even if its a dummy. I recently saw a 32 rad on ebay that speedway mtrs was selling that had a neck on top.

Many, many years ago (1963?) I had an outfit called Triangle Radiator, in Chicago, on Irving Park Road, put a new core into an original 32 radiator. They removed the upper and lower tanks and somehow soldered the new core to the old tanks. Got the height and width absolutely correct, but installed the upper connections horizontal instead of sloped down. Had a long discussion with them on that failure and they corrected it. Fits like originals now.

Couple years ago that radiator developed a leak between the tank body (1932) and the new core (1963). Took it to an old-time radiator place in Waukegan, Ill. Ace Radiator Repair. Good shop.

Hauled into the shop to talk to the owner about the repair.

OMG

He looked at the radiator and said "early ford V8"

Now, he was born in the 30's, maybe early 40's.

They are still out there.

Lee @ Brassworks is awesome. Built me a v8 radiator last year with functioning neck, and I have a second in order now for an OHV application on my other roadster.
