Respects to you late father, they were all brave boys whether they landed on the day or in the following weeks. I did a tour of Omaha and Utah beaches in 2019, I was the only non American out of 24, an amazing experience. Young people today would think the Rainbow Division was was something else.

I did a tour there as well some years ago . I remember standing amongst rows of immaculately kept headstones and sobbing as the enormity of the loss that each one represented sunk in

Yes I went to that cemetary, the US one at Collville Sur Mer and being on the orange/brown sand of Omaha thinking to myself I was standing where the dead had lain....surreal. It was a rubbish day weather wise but it felt peaceful although there was a somber air about the place.

I too noticed the lack of mention on the morning show I was watching. Let us NEVER forget what these brave young men sacrificed for our freedom. I am currently on my second reading of Brokaw's The Greatest Generation. I love to read and it is about 90 percent WW2.

Lack of mention, they're clueless because we failed to educate them.

My dad who is now gone served in North Africa and Italy. Like others he did not talk about the war. Our soldiers do not get enough respect from these career politicos. God bless all those who have served.
