Wish I could see it, guess the water is too murky! All I am seeing is two little boxes were the pictures should be.

I have some pics of an AA on the bottom of a lake in Maine.

People driving on the ice too late in the year can result in a vehicle on the bottom.

I remember an article in the Model A News or Restorer about a Model a that had gone through the ice. They raised it and had in running in a couple of days! It may not have been submerged as long as this one though. Ed

The Red Army was extremely resourceful, the AA was the perfect blend of simplicity and durability. In the early days of WW2 they fed 'off the march' basically eating what they found.During the extreme winters companies would rest using the 'rope'..the men would link arms and wind themselves up in a coil, gaining warmth from each others bodies, every hour or so a whistle would sound and the men would uncoil, the inside guys changing with the outside..

Probably the lake was Lake Ladoga at Leningrad (Now St Petersburg) The people of the city where starving and they had convoys of AAs (GAZ) Delivering supplies for a thousand days while the siege lasted. Thousands starved to death. There was an ice road across the lake and many trucks went through the ice.

Might be past restoration, but it'll make a great garage ornament. Inside a glass case filled with argon.

Reminds me of the joke that came from one of the late, great comedians of yesteryear, like Rodney Dangerfield or Henny Youngman.

"My wife called and said the car won't start.
I said 'why not'.
She said 'There's water in the carburetor'.
I said 'Water in the carburetor? Where is the car?'
She said 'At the bottom of the lake'.

This joke make me laugh a lot today.

During dinner time I told it to my family. They all looked at me opening their eyes probably thinking to call 911 because I was having brain damage. For sure, I will never be a comedian.

Loved that joke !!!

If it's GAZ AA (and I think it is) it was probably found at the bottom of lake Ladoga. The city of St Petersburg (Leningrad) was under siege and was being supplied by trucks across the ice on the lake. The Germans shelled them and bombed them and occasionally they sank. There are probably a few more down there too.
