Default Red on 40Ford DeLuxe mldg
On the hood of a 40 there are mldgs : Ford DeLuxe. I've seen them with the edges painted and some (mine) not painted.

What is correct??

Do you mean the Ford script and the Deluxe script? If so, then yes, the edges were painted. Be advised that the bright red Drake and others paint them is not close to authentic.
