Head Gaskets
I’m replacing the head gaskets on my 1937 Ford as one side was leaking and the other had a stripped spark plug hole. Both heads are in a machine shop now, having the surfaces ground and the repair done. The engine was overhauled in 1955 and they used steel faced gaskets.
I see that copper gaskets cost more than the steel ones. Which would you suggest using? All suggestions/advice will be appreciated. Thanks, Robert |

Re: Head Gaskets
Perhaps the Best Gaskets which have a composite modern materials in use.
Also depends on heads in use, CI or Aluminium. Phil NZ |

I just got the heads back from the machine shop. He also recommended BEST brand gaskets so I have ordered a pair. The car has cast iron heads. |
