These Early Ford V8 Club Restoration Books are a great asset to the Club.
A lot of effort goes into producing them to assist the Restorer. Pity that I don't own a 1940 Ford.

Thanks goes out to Kube, and others in the V8 Club that helped get this book produced. Countless hours of work at volunteer's pay scale! Thank you so much for all the time put in to help the rest of us.

It's probably safe to say that it has been something near TEN years now that Michael K. has spent assembling, tweaking, documenting and editing this literary culmination of his ALMOST fifty-year love affair and association with one of America's most-beloved automotive icons....The 1940 Ford! Now, finally presented in this well-thought-out and heavily-illustrated gem of a publication is what has to be THE "DeLuxe" version of this 'World-Class' craftsman's extensive knowledge, expertise and experience with these wonderful old Fords, gained through his years of owning and dissecting many of the well over 200 '40 Fords he has owned, untold hours spent researching official Ford documentation, and let us not forget Mike's numerous, magnificent and prestigious award-winning restorations which tend to take one's breath away.

I've never had the pleasure of meeting Mike, but I have enjoyed reading every word of wisdom (and BS) that Kube has circulated here on the 'Barn for years. I most-assuredly can't wait to get my hands on one of these long-awaited, and long-overdue Kubarth Forty Ford books. My hat's off to ya Mr. Kubarth, for a job likely no one else could'a pulled-off in this fashion! DD

Anyone judging a 40 passenger car needs to spend some time with this book. Everyone restoring one needs to HAVE this book if they are truly interested in making the car like it was when it rolled off the assembly line. I sure don't know anyone else who could have pulled this huge project off. We all owe Mike a gigantic amount of gratitude. Well done sir!

Would a 39 Deluxe be included or are there considerable differences (other than cosmetic) in the 2 years? I'd love the book but $50 is a lot if it doesn't "fit".

Ordered my book last night even though I don't have a 40. I have a 39 DeLuxe and there is a book for 38 - 39 models from the V-8 Club. Well worth having.

The V-8 Club does have a book that covers the '38-'39 cars. You can purchase it on the V-8 Club website. www.earlyfordv8.org.

Hi ya guys,
In hopes of adding some clarification to inquiries I'd received:
This book covers domestic 1940 Ford passenger cars.
Although I'd received a few requests during the research stage for foreign built and / or destined '40 Fords, well, to include them would have added perhaps a couple of more years to the research. I'd made the decision to not do so.

In my opinion, you should be able to get answers to any question you may have of your '40 Ford passenger car within this text. I realize it took me years to complete this project but I couldn't allow myself to do any less than I felt I was capable of. You know, the old "do it once, do it right" analogy.
Am I correct about that? The readers will have to weigh in.
I hope so...
