Need a source~~~~~!!
I need a source to purchase a carb spacer that will fit my 322CI 1940 LaSalle equipped with a carter and sometimes Stromberg Carbs.
Can anyone point me to a seller of this item?

Or bite the bullet and make or have one made if it's that important. Then also try any vendor that sells speed equipment. Such as Summit racing------- https://www.summitracing.com/search/...s&N=4294916476 Last edited by 34PKUP; 03-31-2019 at 02:54 PM. |

Search "eBay". I've found a lot of stuff on there from people who use it to sell stuff from their regular businesses, not the auction option. They're "Search" option takes a bit of time to figure out, but it works pretty well.

Could you post a photo of the base gasket or the carb bottom side so we know exactly what you need? Maybe something from another make car that uses the same carb would fit.

Re: Need a source~~~~~!!
John, what is the need for a spacer? Might not be what you are after but some will make one from phenolic or even plywood as an insulator to prevent fuel percolation. Phenolic is rigid, plywood less so, if you use that be careful tightening the carb down. I would think commercially available spacers are made for more common carburetors.

Try this, not cheap but you can get the right size piece.

Macmaster carr would probably have phenolic stock. Just have to have it machined.

Last resort have your local wood worker make you one out of wood ( Let him chose which works best for the application ). They work great!

I bought the phonolic sheet from Mc Master Carr, a hole saw on the drill press and a jig saw worked just fine, you may also create an aluminum heat shield to go with it.

Re: Need a source~~~~~!!
Made one out of teak, scavenged from a local boatyard. My 37 LaSalle liked it. Carb stays cool.
