I'm building a 59A with a very mild increase in performance. I plan to start it with the stock single carb manifold to keep it simple. I have in my possession 6 carbs:
Ford script, Circle 1,model EBV
Ford script, 94, 15/16, model 59
Ford script, 94, model 91/99
2 Stromberg carbs, EE-1 on bottom
Ford, 1 1/16

Which would be correct for a 41 Merc?
Which would give the best performance?
Is there a source of information for the history of when each type of carb was used?
I hope I'm not opening up a can of worms! I did do a search.

The 91-99 is correct for 41 merc. /// EBVis a later one like 55-56 /// 59 was for 45-48 /// the EE-1 is a strom 97 and 48's /// the 1 1/16 are late also 55-56 bigger venturies. The 91-99 is correct and you would have no advantage to using anything else. OMO ken ct.

Thanks Ken. Whats the difference between a Strom 97 & 48?
When were they used? Is there a reference that covers carb applications?

Strom 97 is same size as a 94 was used from very late 35 to early38 // the 2 48's that were made a no # 48 was used in 34 and a numbered one was used in 35 - 36. i have all of the various ones if you need. ken ct. 48 has slightly bigger venturies 1 1/32" in stead of the 97's 31/32" ken ct.

Jet size is another difference between 97's & 48's. 97's have #45/0.045" jets while 48's have #48/0.048" jets. Ken will correct me if I'm wrong.
