time serts
Many times i posted time serts over Helli coil, this weekend i had to do 7 holes in my block the threads were nearly gone and pulled out did not what to take a chance so i shot a few pictures, did not get a pictures of the drilling i used the head for line up, time serts or solid and will not pull out once installed, sorry for some being out of focus the time serts come in many lengths make sure you get the right one , the long one here did not fit because they do not use a bottoms end tap so went with a .600 instead of .750

Re: time serts
Allen... Looks like it does a nice (and you) job. I have 2 thoughts about the Time Serts, set them positive (or flush) before surfacing the block to get a smooth finish and IF you used long serts with a Allen plug at the bottom to make it a dry stud(blind hole)? You didn't say what kind of sealer you used? Dudley

Re: time serts
We use simular incerts at work in repairing our stamping dies. They hold up very well. Since most of our dies hare removable tooling once in ahile we will have on that backs out, but not very often. Rod

Re: time serts
Allen, what are the dimples surrounding your intake valve seats in the second photo?
An attempt to snug up the seats? |
