Default 1930 Pictures of NYPD Patrol Cars

NYPD on parade in New York City. The patrol cars are 1930 Model "A" Roadsters. If anyone has more of these NYPD photos, please post them.
Note the wind wings. Also the spare tire on the front roadster appears to be a Goodyear.

Crime in New York was rampant in the 1920s and 1930s. Murder Incorporated was very busy. The photo on the left is a NYPD 1928 Model A Roadster. The other photo is a NYPD 1929 Model A Roadster.

I wonder how many hi-compression police heads were on those cars?

Looks like a police radio.

Could it be a loudspeaker or siren? There is a wire coming out of it.

Its a police radio. Could receive only. then they had to find a police box to phone in. The receiver took up most of the back seat.

Yeah, looks like a Motorola speaker (with an added grill) from their first car radio:

...and the set up in the trunk:

In the speaker photo I noticed two things. One-they have a manual wiper? Or is that the on/off switch for a electric? And two-there is a button or light on the dash panel right dmack dab in the middle. Not sure sure what it is.

I would suspect that it is a push button for a siren.
