V8 meet in Charlotte
Just made my reservation at the Hotel in Charlotte for two nights the 23 and 24. Will the Ford barn group have a get together or meeting time.
I will be coming by air and leaving the driving to some else. |

Re: V8 meet in Charlotte
Nice truck Stu. I drove our '51 F-1 up to Charlotte for the auto fair and combined Lincoln Clubs Meet last month. Wish I had the time to come up for the V8 Meet.

Re: V8 meet in Charlotte
Hi Harry, I'm registered for the Charlotte-Concord meet as #170. I have not contacted a hotel yet to make reservations but need to do that pretty quickly. Are you possibly staying at the Embassy Suites? I don't have a Fordbarn hat but I do have a couple T shirts that I could wear . Hope to meet you and other Barners while there. JM

Re: V8 meet in Charlotte
I'll be there also, travelling down with a group from CT. Haven't received my official registration package back yet, but I at least have a place to stay. To my knowledge there is no official FordBarn gathering scheduled. I'm sure KenCT would be happy to have everyone stop by his location during the meet. LouB.

Re: V8 meet in Charlotte
Harry, I'm coming from East Texas with some with the Dallas club. I'll be in my 53 four door. The Host hotel was booked up, so we got a room at the Wingate down the street. Hope to see you there and all others also. Regards, Charles

Re: V8 meet in Charlotte
I should be there , work just the other side of the interstate as the Speedway , but my work has me so busy that unfortunately I doubt I will have time to arrange any get together .But as time gets closer I will see what I can do !
What are the exact dates ? Cheers Tony |

Re: V8 meet in Charlotte
Harry - Margretha and I will be there - registration number is 56 - we'll be trailering Henry down (too far to driive the 4:11 gears!!) I think we are staying in the Wingate, but don't have that Information here at the office. I'll have the F-150 Supercrew, so in-and-around transportation shouldn't be an issue. If there is no "planned" Fordbarn meet - we can always "create" our own!! Call my cell: 601-416-6784 or home 601-253-2732 or office 601-253-2833.
Warm Regards, Marcus |

Re: V8 meet in Charlotte
When I go to a National meet I always look for a car nicer then mine which isn't hard to do. That when I learn from it. I take pictures so I won't forget what to do. That one good reason one should go to the National meet. Then the swap meet where to find what your car needs. You get to meet some really nice people that can help you with your car to improve it.I have not got my dash woodgrain yet. I am going to try to do it myself. My Maroon 39 sure is a sweet driver with the Columbia rear end. Last Sunday I drove it over 160 miles and was on the interstate for over 100 miles and kept up with traffic. When I got home I check the oil and water to see where they were.Water level was right at the cap and the oil was still on he full mark. The Maroon 39 does not half to take a back seat with all my Junkers as dad always called them.He would say Please don't bring any more junk home. Then when I did he just through up his hands and then help me with it.I sure down deep he enjoyed them also.Back then I had a 57 Chevy and when he drove it he had a big smile on his face.I have never forget that. He was hell on the gears with my 33 Ford. The good old days. Then my father in law also like to drive my Junkers. He also was a gear grinder also.He would say to me [Always called me by my last name] STEWART what are we going to do today with a smile on his face? Both are gone now and I miss them both very much.We had some good times together. So you see I surley had a good life.
