Here is how you Subscribe to any Thread you want to keep track of.

In the red color band at the top of the Tread you are reading, click on "Thread Tools"
a menu drops down, Ciick on "Subscribe to this Tread" and then
Click on "No Email Notification" and then Click on "Instant Email Notification"
Then Click on "Add Subscription"

You will now be emailed instantly when there is a New Post added to that Thread,
and Now, a small blue box with a check mark in it (only visable to you, and No-One else), will appear next to the Tread you Subscribed to.
This blue box with the check mark in it will be seen, (Just by you), so you can see
which Threads you have subscribed to, by seeing this blue box.

You can "Un-Subscribe" anytime you no longer want to watch the Tread.

This works really good when whatching yours or
other peoples "wanted" or "for sale" ad's.
"Good Grief", this is a good example of how confusing this site can be!!

Frank, if the thread title is in BOLD it has changed since you last viewed it. If you then open it and click the "View first unread" icon it will take you to any additions since you last read it.

I think Ryan has also helped something else . I responded to a thread just a few minutes ago. After I responded the thread now on the screen shows a blue box with a white check mark over to the right side. This highlights all posts you responded to.

No, it just shows all the options that are available. You can get along just fine without ever having to subscribe to a thread.

Subscribing takes LESS THAN 10 SECONDS, it's easier than tieing your shoelaces.

You guys are missing the convience of this site. Before it was "wear out the back button". Now the posts are all listed one after another on the intitial post. All the "changes" you are talking about are all changes that if you took the time to design a site, would be things you would want for convience, and speed of use.
Granted, yes, it is a change for some of you --- but with this site, it is like the caveman discovering fire --- you will be surprised what you will be able to do, once you understand what it can do for you...............

Give it a chance --- there's still information to share ---

If you're confused, ask questions. It's 99% likely that any question you have can be answered by other forum members.

If something on the forum behaves in a manner you don't like, ask; there may be a way to change it.

If there's something you want to do, but don't know or can't figure out how to do it, ask; there's probably someone here who knows how.

Also, check the FAQ and the "Are ya' Lost" page that Ryan compiled. They explain some of the features of the new forum software:

This site is great, you just have to get used to it. I think it is easier to use than the old one.

The problem is that you have to read everything, you cannot respond to or read answers to sub posts. If you respond to a sub post it does not fall under it. If that makes any sense.

There are no sub posts anymore, and that is a good thing, IMO. Everything is simple and clear with no tangent discussions that you have to endlessly click back and forth to read. Everything is linear now, as it should be.

Anyone who is having trouble, please feel free to email me or send a pm and I'd be happy to help you sort out your issues. Or email/pm me your phone number and I'll try to help you walk through it. [email protected]

Quote "I used to just occasionally lurk at the old barn because it was so cumbersome to navigate. But now I'm here every day. The difference to me is like night and day. And it appears to me that most of the HAMBers have looked it over and decided that they like the HAMB and have returned to it and most of the old barn guys have decided to learn and work with the new format and have stayed."

I don't care for the new format. Too hard to keep up with and respond to a specific question. I find that I am visiting less and less. My ¢. Lawson

Lawson, the best way to keep track of that is the User CP button right under the Ford barn logo. Once you get the option to subscribe to threads activated, you can keep track of every single thread you've posted on by clicking on that link from now to eternity. It's really simple. If you need help activating your subscriptions, shoot me an email with your phone number and I'll walk you through it. It's pretty simple. you'll be surprised at how simple and easy it is once you get this feature activated.

You've all helped out us younger generation folks for all these years at the 'barn. Let us return the favor.

How in the world could you think that the old FORDBARN was cumbersome ?
It was simple as pie.

The old Ford Barn required 4900 mouse clicks to navigate/read through a discussion topic. That was cumbersome. Finding an old thread was also cumbersome once it fell off the main page.
