I've mentioned an elusive strange noise a number of times over the past couple years.. Recently there was a post regarding water pump impeller interference which got me to thinking.. Now that I think about it, It seems the noise might have started after a water pump rebuild.. It seemed to spin freely upon installation, or so I thought.. So, I removed it , and it looked as though the impeller had made contact with the block from time to time.. It didn't seem like that was the noise I was hearing, but, I hear a lot of noises with that car.. So I 'lightened' the impeller and cut the end play down even more.. Time will tell, I guess.. Anyway, thanks for the previous post..
