Default 31 slant window 4 dr rusted rear wheel well

In restoring the rear wheel wheel, should I fabricate a complete new wheel well, or can I "patchwork" in new pieces one at a time?

Short answer is that you can do it either way.

My first concern is that your body subrail is missing large portions due to corrosion. It looks like the wood beam you're using for support is much higher into the wheel well than it should be.

The first thing I would do is assess how bad that rail is rusted and repair that first in order to give the body sufficient structure. The downturned lip of the rail is what the bottom of the fender well is attached to. Then I would decide how to repair the wheel well. Take many photos from many angles prior to tearing into the job. You'll need them once you start making the new metal.

If it was my car, I would get a replacement panel or fabricate a new one.
