Exploded view of Model A light switch
I've got a 1928 Model A RHD. I'm in the process of tracing through to find a dead short on the lighting circuit which is blowing the main fuse. 2 questions.
1. Has anybody got an exploded view of the light switch that attaches to the end of the steering column? I've been through the Les Andrew book and although there's the electrical schematic of how the switch functions, there's little on how it mechanically/ electrically works. Before I start taking the switch assembly apart (to isolate the different feeds) I'd like to have a bit more information on it. 2. Are there any common issues with the switch that I should look out for? |

The brake light switch can cause issues too.

Re: Exploded view of Model A light switch
You didn't say if it was blowing fuses always or just when turning the lights on. If it happens all the time, then also know that one side of the horn is always live. If it happens only when turning the lights on then it might not be in the swich. Anything "downstream" from the switch could be shorting too.
