Default Manuals

Hey All,

Wondering which manuals might be the best to buy for pulling down, putting back together and also maintenance for a 42 ford 1 1/2 ton truck?

And the T8D1 gearbox?

Cheers

Corey

I have been told there is a military manual for these trucks, which supposedly is the best. I have found a regular manual yet for my 41 1 1/2 ton truck

yes there are good army manuals available. some are reprinted, some you have to watch ebay. first you need the "g" number for your truck. in ww2 all vehicles had a g number, for instance g104 was the halftrack, g505 the jeep etc. all parts for these rigs would have the g number in the part number so without even knowing what part it was, you knew what vehicle it was for. the shop manuals are called tm's , tech manual i would guess, but your manual would start tm-then the g number. sorry i used to have a list of the g numbers, but lost in a fire. i'm sure some googling could identify your truck

I think G503 is the jeep if I am not mistaken. I believe G506 is the 1.5 ton military version. There is a website with a forum with lots of technical help www.g503.com scroll down to truck section. The E auction site would probably have it.
