Default Spoked....

Waiting for me when I got home...thanks to Calimers wheel shop.

These are so nice I can not paint over the workmanship. Will be staining these a nice espresso finish to show off the grain.

It seems like Ford finally started to apply a wood finish around a year before they changed over to welded spoke wire wheels. Most were black for a good portion of model T production. The paint generally held up better for normal use & abuse for the roads they had at the time. Folks that store their cars well and drive them in good weather shouldn't have a problem with the wheel finish. They should have a good clear coat after staining just to preserve the wood in case they ever get wet.

Of course it's your call to paint or varnish, but be prepared to hear "you know, your wheels are wrong, they were all painted black" from every Ford expert at every show you take your car to.

That depends on who is speaking. The guys who say that are thinning out. I always hear "Don't the wheels look nice".

There have always been driver enthusiasts as well as purists of restoration and I doubt that will ever change. Generations change along with old father time but some things don't ever change.

Got them stained and they came out like I wanted looking like old wood showing the nice grain.

Yes Will N. I hear yah...like the old saying "the more people I meet, the more I like my CAT"

Calimers wheel shop is in Waynesboro PA, my Fordor is an original car from PA so the wheel build made it especially nice being from the nearby area.

Wicked nice cah! And that pickup is nice from what we can see. Thought there was a fire nearby but it was the Pollen here, too.
