Default Pedal Glue

When releasing the clutch my left shoe catches on/snags the side of the brake rubber pedal enough to pop it off.

Question: Is there any down side to using Gorilla Glue to keep the rubber pedals firmly in place? Alternative solution?

I've considered drilling a hole in the pedals and using one of those cast rubber pedals but they would add about 1/2"+ height to each pedal and my thigh already hits the steering wheel when I lift my foot onto the brake. And those round pedals would come close to touching. I envy those with a tilt wheel.

Thoughts appreciated.

The only downside would be that it would be hard to remove if you had to sometime . I would go for it !

Paul, I think Merc pedals are different from the earlier years but, perhaps you can make an offset bracket with the offset you need to move either pedal to the left or right. The one below has a 1 1/2 in. offset. Weld the threaded stud in place. Use lock washers on both the rubber pedal and the offset piece. I would not want to rely on glue.

NOTE: Threads are 1/4 NPT. Not 1/2-20 as shown.

To answer the question, can't think of any downside to glue except
as mentioned upon removal.
For those who do not know how the pads look or are attached, take a look.

You obviously need Marine Epoxy.

This is glue. Strong stuff.

Paul, I now think glue will work just fine. Even Contact Cement.

Yes, different shoes might be the answer. A good podiatrist might also have an answer. Jack E/NJ

I bought an offset pedal from Drake I think it was. Only problem was that it was a different thread than stock, had to drill the pedal bracket out to install the new one. Not stock, but it worked just fine. Good luck
