Is the T5 for a mechanical or electronic speedometer?

It's mechanical. My trouble is the cable looks like it's to small to fit in the t5 drive. I have to Koch the frame to get clear shot at it. So I didn't get it out yet. The cable. Is new for the 37. Will it hook on to the t5 or do I need adapter?

there is a speedometer shop here in san antonio tx http://www.texasindustrialelectric.com/speedo.asp i have used them in years past to make custom speedo cables that fit the early ford spedo and the T-5 trans output and they can supply the correct trans gears for the trans depending on your differential ratio gear ratio. extremely competent and can work over the phone.

i also found that this cable
https://cgfordparts.com/ufolder/ford...mber=B7C-17260 from C&G Ford Parts fit the 1941 pick up spedo head and also fit the chevy T-5 threaded spedo output.

Its been a while since I did my T5 conversion in my '38 but I'm pretty sure that the stock speedo cable that was on the Ford "turtle" sending unit will fit right on the T5 mechanical sender. I just used a grinding burr to round out a corner of the frame hole so that the T5 sender could be removed/installed and that the cable connector would clear the frame.
