Original EV8 aftermarket chassis parts
I have a small collection of original EV8 aftermarket chassis parts that I would like to grow. Need some help with the names of some of the long gone manufacturers like Thomsons, McQuay Norris, Toldeo Steel, CM Mfg. (Master Brand), etc. Thank you Fordbarners.

Re: Original EV8 aftermarket chassis parts
You want help in identifying them, selling them, or are you looking for more stuff to add to your collection? Maybe you should rephrase your posting.

Re: Original EV8 aftermarket chassis parts
I would am looking for more stuff to add to my limited collection, not sell them. These would be the after market mfgs of chassis parts from the '50 & 60's. So I should be on the look out for; Thompson, Toledo Steel. CM Mfg, (Master Brand), and Mcquay Norris products. Are TRW & Moog more recent than the '50s & 60s.
Any other names from the past that come mind ? Thank you. |

Lawson, I'm just an average intelligence level Cave Man and I understood what he's looking for .
russco, I have some old hot rod parts catalog's from the 50's - 60's that might have some long gone manufacture's names listed....or have you already tried that approach?

Re: Original EV8 aftermarket chassis parts
I don't have any old hot rod parts catalogs from that era. I have some old Hot Rod mags that go back to the '50s, but I don't recall any chassis parts ads. Thank you all for your help.

Re: Original EV8 aftermarket chassis parts
TRW is later than Thompson. Thompson, Ramco and Warner merged to form TRW. I have read the history but don't remember the details of the merger.

Re: Original EV8 aftermarket chassis parts
Thank you for the history of TRW. I thought it might be earlier than the other older names. So that's what happened to Thompson. Thank you.

Re: Original EV8 aftermarket chassis parts
McQuay Norris was bought by Eaton. Found evidence of that on some of the NORS parts I have. Rod

Re: Original EV8 aftermarket chassis parts
Thank you JM 35 for posting that great old catalog, and Ron for the McQuay Norris update. The collection of early aftermarket chassis parts names grows. Thank you Fordbarners.

Re: Original EV8 aftermarket chassis parts
It used to be Thompson Products Co., or known around here as Tapco. When I was a kid our next door neighbor worked there. They used to take us to the Tapco summer picnics. Later became Thompson Ramo Woolridge. TRW. Just last week, another neighbor and friend (Dick Schroeder) passed away. He retired as QC manager at TRW valve division. Paul Selfe.

Re: Original EV8 aftermarket chassis parts
Weatherhead was around for a long time. I think this store display is from the late 20's. Also don't forget Paco, they were around for a long time also. Rod

I have an old Weather head catalog that is still helpful. But my interest is chassis parts like Thompson king pins, shackles, etc. Thank you Fordbarners

Re: Original EV8 aftermarket chassis parts
I have some of that stuff stashed away, but am holding onto it for now. If you ever decide to start collecting shop art like the bench or counter display let me know. Rod
