Default Isky 88 cam and double spring question

A little background
I'm trying to help someone get there motor (8ba) running properly. It's a fresh rebuild from a machine shop that is not familiar with flatheads. What I found was an isky 88 cam with stock valves, isky 4005 springs & 87f spring retainers with no shims installed. I can lift a valve up 1/4" off the seat with 2 fingers.

Isky calls for an installed spring height of 1.687" with 115 lbs of seat pressure.

That seems like I'm going to need a whole lot of shims and an excessive amount of seat pressure.

I've always used the 185g springs with never more than 90lbs of seat pressure on a lot bigger cam.

So should I go by iskys recommendations and use the 4005 springs?

Or should I use 185g springs?

Or ?

Thanks in advance

The isky 88 cam is a very mild cam and only 50 Lbs is necessary for a street engine. Over the years I've sued several of them. Not a very good choice.stock springs with a .060" shim

Thanks for the help. I'm not looking forward to telling him to replace his springs and retainers that he has about $275.00 invested in

That comes from picking the wrong builder.
