Default Now I have to replace rear wheel cylinders

On my 1926 model t I have a Ford 9 inch with dimples on the back. I have read this is a 1964 or so rear end. The t has been sitting for a long time. I have replaced all brake components except the rear wheel cylinders. Here's the part I have to ask questions. The owner before me put the drum brakes upside down. So the wheel cylinder is on the bottom. So do I take off the big springs and the smaller ones on the side to the drum brakes. and then unbolt the wheel cylinder and then bolt it back together or do I have to take the entire drum brake assembly off? Just trying to work smarter not harder.
thanks
Jerry

That is something most model T owners won't ever have to face. Why not correct the position of the brakes?

Not familiar with Fords. But I assume its unbolting the brake backing plate and putting it =in the correct position. I kept looking at it this afternoon. Kept asking why did he do this? Im going to take another look at it tomorrow There has to be a reason why.
thanks
