Default where to get 1952 Ford Truck motor mounts?

I have been searching several vendors and cannot seem to find a complete motor mount assembly (239 flathead). I see the rubber parts for the 52 mounts but not assembly. So I thought I would ask the experts for options. Is there anyone that sells the assembly? Can I use an earlier year assembly and get away with it or do I have to make modifications?
Thanks in advance
Jeff

Not sure what you mean by an "assembly"? Do you have a 6 cylinder truck or a V-8 truck?

You need the 52 only mounts. I believe Dennis Carpenter has them. Don't let anyone try to tell you different. Wish I had a picture so you could see the difference in the frame itself

Looks like LMC has at least some of the parts. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fa/full.aspx?Page=85

8L indicates a Lincoln part originally. The 50 & 51 Mercury cars used a similar mount and it was also used as a front mount on some of the 6-cylinder engine applications for pickups & trucks so they changed the part number. Ill have to check my parts catalogs to find the new number.

Yes these are the rubber parts of the mount. The problem is I do not have all of the metal parts that these rubber mounts go with. That is why I was asking if I could find a whole assembly or parts to make up the the whole assembly. I only have the parts that are in the pictures I posted links to. Or if I can use substitutions. I called macs and they use to have a whole assembly but it has been discontinued. Maybe it is a combination of parts from the LMC links that you posted?
Hey thanks for the help!!

Best bet is to advertise on the FTE site, as quickly as those guys are shucking their flatheads, someone has to have them.

Try www.steelerubber.com/restoration-parts. My mounts from them came as complete kit. Don't know if they'd have yours.

I can't speak for the 1952 F series but I can for the Mercury set ups that I am more familiar with. The special step shank bolts are no longer available unless you luck into some NOS parts from a collector/dealer. I use aircraft bolts with the correct size bushing to fit inside the mount bushings to set the clamp up tension. Washers are a large area type that can be sourced through special hardware sources or possibly McMaster Carr or the like. When I purchase used stuff, it is generally pretty well corroded so used is a hit or miss source. If from western dry states, the parts might still be good.

try John's Salvage in Seguin Tx.. (830) 379-2092 i was out there yesterday and he still has some 52 & 53 trucks out there and may have the mount that bolts to the motor... also try Baxter's Ford Parts in Lawrence, Kansas.... (785) 842-9256 ............ this what it looks like but this one is for a later model truck although you might be able to modify this one and have it work..... http://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_tr...-and-f250.html

That's for '53 and later.

The '52-ONLY mount looks very similar to the 48-51 truck mounts, two rubber biscuits, but it has different diameters and different bolts to accommodate the mountings for the new-for-52 215 6-cylinders. Nothing else will work correctly. I'll take a picture of mine, if needed I can take one apart and measure the bolt, washers, etc.

Try All Ford Parts in Campbell, Ca. Ph# 1-800-532-1932. They have a lot of NOS parts.

I measured my bolts. See below. I imagine a 3-1/2"-long 1/2"-dia. bolt with a piece of 1/2" ID, 5/8" OD tubing slipped over it would work if you don't have a lathe.

Even though it has been more than a year and a half since the last post I still find that I need to resurrect this thread. Has anyone found a reliable source for the bolt for the '52 Truck engine mounts (Ford part number 2C-6047-A)? There are a number of vendors that carry the rubber pads (8L-6038-B and 8L-6039-B) but they all only carry the smaller bolt for the earlier engine mounts. Also, the only diagram of the '52 mount that I can find (Ford Truck Chassis Parts 1948-1954 and Ford F-Series Trucks Shop Manual) doesn't show any washers other than the one under the castle nut. Are there any others. Has anyone tried the idea that Ross F1 proposed in using a short section of tubing as a sleeve on a 1/2" diameter bolt? Should work if I can't find one of those 2C-6047-A bolts. Thanks for any and all advice.

I use aircraft bolts to control overall length and thread length purchased through Aircraft Spruce. The AN8 will work for 1/2" diameter and the length dash numbers are in 1/8" intervals. The tubing for the step is out there. it just has to be cut to mach the step on the OEM shoulder bolt. This workks well and is starting with new metal. So many of the original parts are badly rusted and OEM parts are getting harder to source every year. I fear a person would have to have a lathe and a mill to fabricate ones like the original and even then they should be plated to slow the corrosion.

The lower rubber piece has a large diameter washer molded into it. The bolts come up from below, into the water pump foot. I used a washer under the castle nuts.

Since we are on the subject of 52 F1 flathead v8 engine mounts.

In my 52 F1 pickup, my front cross member has been butchered to fit in a different radiator, to go along with the 351 Cleveland in my pickup. I want to return my pickup to standard. I have an 8BA/8RT to go back in my pickup, and have the correct 1952 F1 pickup motor mount brackets etc to suit.

I also want to replace my front cross member. Are all 48 - 52 F1 front cross members the same?? and thus compatible with the 52 engine mount brackets?? Thanks

Yes, they are the same front cross member for 1948 through 52 F1, 2, & 3 plus the parcel delivery.

Don't hesitate to start a new thread. It will draw attention to your needs quicker that way.
