Default Restoration Qs...Dove Tails

Rusty Nelson and I were talking about the 2 screw "dove tails".
I know there are 2 styles,...here are the part numbers...
These numbers came from the Trim Book...from 1934..

1. B-76819-A
2. B-76819-B

The questions is;....what is the difference? When was the change?

Thanks,

BTW,...Ya, I know they start with "B",..but they are for "A's".

Since the number starts with a "B" aren't these Model B parts?

Or, are they also used on the Model A?

And, what are "2 screw dovetails"?

Fair enough Tom,...not enough information..for the doors.
I figure that it also fits later cars than the A's, so the prefix got bumped..

After looking at Tom's photo and the description (duh), I see what the difference
is. What I'm after is a photo of the early and later style of dovetail and when
it was changed?

Thanks..

I don't understand how both circled dovetail in Dudley's post above are used on most of the model A's listed in the "used on" table. I have never seen a dovetail like B-76819-A. The only ones I have seen are the -B version. Could it be there were two sources for Ford from suppliers, thus the different dash letters? I am pasting a picture of a repro (Vintique cruddy dovetail) and an original on the right in the picture. After talking to Allan Lepore (A&L) today he believes Vintique is the only company that makes repro 2 hole dovetails for open and closed car. As you can see in the picture, the repro dovetail is much thinner (24 gauge metal), the corners are not formed right and the countersunk screw holes are not made correctly. It is a sorry situation that companies like Vintique cant's make a better reproduction that the one shown. Maybe A&L will make an authentic dovetail.

Ya Vince,...I agree.
In my original Trim Book, the pictures are spread apart, one on the
top of the page, the other at the bottom,..plus, I didn't read the
description( duh). I like looking at pictures..

I thought there was an early and late of the dovetail,..I think it's
the shape. That's what I'm after,...and I'm sure I saw it somewhere..

Okay?
