Electric fans
I have not used one of these, but would like to know what are the good ones that folks are using?
What would you recommend?, Or, Have had good luck with? I'm going to install one in front of an AC condenser & wire it thru a relay so that it turns on only with the AC. Thanks Jim Last edited by Kahuna; 08-10-2018 at 09:37 AM. Reason: added info & spelling |

Re: Electric fans
Hi Jim,
I am using a pusher fan from Summit Racing. 9" Fan: SPU-IX-30100381 wiring kit: SPU-IX--185FH It has been working fine for me. I only have a couple hundred miles on the car (37) so can't speak to its long term reliability. gregg |

Re: Electric fans
Kind of an old experience, but when I built my '40 I used one from, I think,"The Fan Man". It lasted 3-4 years and the bearing went out. I put a Spal on and it lasted the 15+ years I kept the car. It had a "whine" to it, though.
My '38 has a Cooling Components fan on it and I really like it. It is built into a shroud and is quiet, but wouldn't work for a pusher. |

Re: Electric fans
You might give Lee at BrassWorks a call. He was very helpful when I had questions about fans when I was considering an electric pusher fan on the radiator he built for me. He's in Paso Robles so depending on where you are in NorCal he might not be that far away from you.

Re: Electric fans
I have a 12 inch pusher thru temp sensor but also thru a switch so I can turn it on if I want. It works really well. I got mine at the Nationals in Louisville a couple years ago.

Re: Electric fans
I have a "Cold Air Products" one on my F1, I running an electric thermo switch and have had no problems even here in Arizona. I also am using their Hurricane a/c-heat system.
I believe mine was an older model but look at this one. Chap https://www.oldairproducts.com/produ...-cfm-pulls-air |

Re: Electric fans
I’m using a Flexalite Black Magic puller fan that has a shroud to cool a 392 Hemi. When the car is in heavy slow and go traffic and the fan kicks on it will drop the water temp from 200* to 180* in less than one minute. Very efficient.
