Didn't the 34-36 fuel pumps have offset inlet/outlets? This picture seems to be of an aftermarket pump.

The previous photo appeared to have the large top. Here is a photo of the small top as used for '33-'34.

That pump in that pic by mfagan is incorrect. The 34 to early 36 pump had a smaller top.I see them all the time on EBAY for around $20.

This is a good picture of the correct pump, however, the screws appear to be incorrect. Refer to Don Rogers pictures for the correct screws.

Just a reminder. Whenever your are re-installing the fuel line back into the carbruetor, be sure to loosen the carburetor base bolts, so you don't put the line, back in, cross-threaded.
Took me a while to learn that. It's easier, too.

Gary, unless I am mistaken, the pump in your photo has the top casting "clocked" off one screw. The inlet is totally facing the fire-wall. In Don Rogers photos and cut-away, you can see the proper position.

This is Bruce Johnson, I will go take the photos of the fuel pump right now, I questioned the pump due to this post.
I did answer some of Jerry's questions in the post below, but to answer more of Jerry's question's here goes:
1. I have the correct fuel pump stand, just he one I cleaned up that was on the motor when I got it.
2. Pumps are the ones I sent to Skip and had rebuilt from skip, will have the ones on the original motor done in future.
3. I do need aluminum heads (even the original motor head are cast, someone changed in 79 years, go figure!!)
4.Have a new tank with adapter, Don P. and I will decide which is best, have my old tank but have not cut open, you have seen my POST on tank repair, I will someday cut open and blast.
5. Yes I do have the correct MODEL 48 carburetor with out the 48, rebuilt by Ken, but while trying to start car, we changed because car would not start with new carburetor.
Will post photos in a little while, just got back from Lexington, KY MARC National Meet, I would be glad to have this Fuel Pump questions settled, thanks for the HELP, Bruce

Re: Yes, they are still out there!!!
Bruce
This is a VERY nice car and you are lucky to have found it! Several points: It seems that with some parts you are looking for originality and with others you are not. You have a 37 engine, (as you may know), the fuel pump stand is incorrect for 34, the water pumps are 36, heads should be aluminum, fuel pump is a 47, carburetor is a 36 and others have told you about the motor mounts. You say that you are installing a new gas tank and with this you may not be able to use your original gas gauge. I am not being critical and your car will be a great driver just as it is!!

Re: Yes, they are still out there!!!
Jerry, the motor was changed in 1978(found a note on back of enevolope in glove box), have the orginal 34 engine and transmission, will have to look again at fuel pump stand ( it was on the engine ) send me information on correct one, have the re-buildt model 48 carburetor "with out at the 48 logo" from Ken also, you will have to take up the fuel pump problem with Ken of Ct.,it is supposed to be the correct fuel pump. I have a replaced the 1947 fuel pumps on 47 cars and they have a glass bowl. Tank will accept the old fuel pickup and I have found with my 41 pickup that nothing will run long on rust or water. I did take steering column out to replace the upper and lower bushing so I can make a driver, "safe driver". Motor mounts are another question, the ones I installed are what is on the market, if I place the new ones beside the old ones, they do measure the same, and now the motor is setting correctly in front cross member. NOW for everyone reading this, I appreciate your reply Jerry, I take the message like you wrote it, just good V8 people looking at another V8 car. I will get car so soon I can get the car on road, I have not got to drop the car in gear yet and let it pull me along, just been pulled by my son and 4-wheeler to garage. Have several V8er's sending me information about 34's, now I hope you will be an additional source of information, thank you again and glad you posted reply, Bruce
