Default 8BA in a '36

Is there any need to box the frame?

The '36 frame is already "doubled" in the high stress areas unlike a Model A or '32 frame, both of which are often boxed, usually when installing a much more powerful motor than a flathead and being built for racing. I'd have to give a definite NO.

NO. I didn't box the frame of my 40 Ford 40 years ago when I installed the 8BA. Still haven't had any problems.
